![]() In Dawn, during the grave speech Saint referred to Guardian as the “man/woman who avenged Cayde-6”.Īlmost all of Crow’s dialogue in Hunt is poking fun at Guardian having killed Uldren, the dialogue was clearly not written with the viewpoint that Guardian didn’t kill Uldren, it was written with the viewpoint that Guardian did indeed kill him. Given the context, Ghost’s dialogue basically means “we killed Uldren because he killed our friend.”Īlthough the Chronicon isn’t to be taken as legitimate in the slightest, in it Guardian doesn’t forgive Uldren/Crow and kills him countless times. Mara: “Were you satisfied with your vengeance? I wasn’t.” It’s heavily implied that Guardian did kill Uldren.Įven back in the Forsaken era Mara still blamed Guardian for Uldren’s death and Ghost’s own dialogue suggests that Guardian did pull the trigger. Bungie also goes out of their way to repeat the "cut to black, gunfire" trope when Uldren kills Cayde again when Petra/We kill Uldren, of which you can hear the AoS kill Cayde, and the Vestian kill Uldren.Īgain, I feel like this is probably obvious given it's been 3 years, but by that same merit maybe the people that have forgotten/never got to play Forsaken might appreciate this. It also doesn't at all sound like the Ace of Spades' iconic clip-popping-out-of-an-M1-Garand-type gunshot. The shot that rings out is very much the future-y, laser gun discharge of an energy weapon, aka the Vestian Dynasty, aka not the Ace of Spades. We know Uldren Sov is dead, but aren't entirely sure who did the do. The scene cuts to black, and a gunshot rings out. Petra with the Vestian Dynasty sidearm, and us with the Ace of Spades, stare down Uldren with the barrels of our guns. The core of the argument comes down to this: the end of the main campaign of Forsaken sees us (the player character) and Petra looking upon a broken and beaten Uldren. If I'm a dummy and this is very public knowledge, feel free to let me know in the comments. I know it's been mostly speculation for years now, and I'm not sure if a lore entry has outright said it yet, but the evidence is in the Forsaken cutscenes. We all know Petra Venj was the one who put Uldren Sov to (temporary) rest, right? Like, this is a known fact? I'm not super active on Reddit, nor do I get many opportunities irl to talk shop when it comes to Destiny lore, but this has been bugging me for months now: What's Rasputin's favorite dance?
